Allow 2 to 3 working days for bloods and urine samples.
X-rays take 7 to 10 working days.
Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your Patient Access account
- by phoning us on 0151 511 5672 after 2pm. Results and any information regarding your results will not be given out before this time
- results will be texted to your mobile phone if you have consented for this service
If your tests were not requested by the surgery, please contact the provider directly.
Receptionists are not clinicians and are therefore unable to advise you on what your results mean. They can only pass on the doctors’ comments.

If you want to talk to someone about your results, fill out a test results request form and someone will be in touch.
Blood tests
The surgery does not perform blood tests however please see our list of local clinics (PDF) you may attend for your blood test.
We can offer Saturday phlebotomy appointments with our extended access based here at Rainhill Village Surgery depending on availability. Please call the practice to book a Saturday appointment.
